Cully completed the double over Exeter Uni this season, with a convincing 0-12 win away from home. The Uni girls battled with just 10 players and were grateful to their keeper on more than one occassion who kept the score down to the dozen. Lola grabbed the Player of the Match award with her double hat trick, which started in the second minute of the game and with her first touch. She scored her second soon after, both were cool right footed shots in the corners of the goals. Rachel had some early opportunities but was thwarted by the keeper. She subsequently turned provider and her left footed short was perfectly met at the back post by Celine sliding in and volleying home. Redders then took her chances and scored 2 goals in quick succession , the second being expertly drilled into the corner after close control from her chest down. The Uni girls valiantly fought on and on a few occassions tested the back 3. Josie made a welcome return and was partnered by Kerry and Bucky, the 3 of them staying solid and were determined to keep a clean sheet. Lola finished the half completing her hat trick, being played in by Emma Jones on the left. Mandy Earle, Rach and Curly all had chances to get on the scoresheet but were all denied. The Uni girls started the second half more determined and took advantage of the slope to attach in earnest. Bucky and Josie were both called upon to make clearances from balls over the top and Mingo was busier with pass backs from her defence. She kicked well despite being very much a by-stander. Lola got Cully back into the swing of things cooly finishing after a one-on-one. Rachel then scored her first of two, keeping cool under pressure with a left footed shot. Redders made way for Flo who made an instant impact and linked up well with Kerry who set up Lola for her fifth. Josie was denied a come back goal when she was adjudged to be off-side when she headed home from a Curly free-kick. Rachel got her second and Lola her double hat-trick soon after. Kerry was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet as her shot went just wide across the goal. The Uni keeper then made a succession of great saves, most spectacularly preventing Rachel scoring her hat-trick from close range. Flo capped off a great substitutes performance when she hit a sweet strike from the edge of the box, after a pass from Mandy. Next week the girls face a tough battle at home to Gloucester.
